Tennis has been a huge part of my life ever since I first picked up a racquet at the age of four. Since then, I have always played with the aspirations of playing in college one day. I played tournaments and high school tennis up through the present date and have earned a 7.46 UTR. I was 1 singles at my high school both freshman and sophomore year with a state tournament birth in the latter. In my junior year, I played 1 doubles and my partner and I earned another state tournament birth. Tennis has been a huge part of my life but it isn't the only thing I do.
I am also a baseball player in which I played varsity my sophomore year. I think baseball really helps with the mental and strength aspect of sports which in turn, benefits my tennis. One thing that has always benefitted me is my work ethic. Growing up, I was never the biggest or strongest kid on the court or on the field. In order to keep up, I had to work harder than everyone else. That work began to pay off as I got bigger and stronger, putting myself at a level above my opponents.
I take school very seriously as I have maintained a 4.0 unweighted GPA throughout high school. I apply the same tenacity to the classroom and always strive to do the best I possibly can. It's really helped me build work habits that in turn, benefit my sports.
Another thing that is very important to me is my family. I am very close with my immediate family. I live with my dad, my mom, and my sister. They are very important to me and they have helped turn me into the athlete and person I am today.
I have aspirations to play collegiate tennis because I think there is room for me to improve still and I want to maximize my true potential.
