Personal Statement

I would like to play Tennis at the Collegiate Level.  An outstanding athlete, I enjoy competing and find that I am usually on the winning team.  I am very fast on the court and have very quick reactions, these skills help me to pull off shots that your average player just cannot believe.   This is true in tennis, basketball and soccer, all three of which I play as a starting member of the Varsity team for my high school.  I enjoy being part of a team and I have competed in cross country, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, baseball, basketball and tennis.   I have leadership skills and this is why our tennis coach contacted me to be the captain of the varsity tennis team in just my sophomore year.  I was fortunate to win the class M State Tennis Tournament with my Doubles Partner Kevin Sisco in my Junior year.   I think character and good sportsmanship are an essential part of the sporting experience.  Win or lose, I look forward to shaking hands with my opponents and congratulating them on playing a good match.
