I started playing tennis my freshman year of high school. I had never played before but because of the pandemic, I wasn't sure I would be able to play any other sports, so I decided to try tennis. I learned quickly and made the varsity team my freshman year where I was also undefeated in doubles. That year I received the "Rookie of the Year" award. By my sophomore year, I was contacted by the coach to be a captain of the tennis team. That year I also earned the second singles spot and was selected for the All Conference Tennis team. My Junior year and I was again captain of the tennis team holding the singles one spot. My team just won our conference and I was named an All Conference recipient for the second year in a row. In addition, I was selected for the 2023 CIAC sports Invitational at Wesleyan University. I was also the recipient of this past season's Most Valuable Player award for my Junior year.
According to my coaches I have progressed significantly in three years time. I am a lefty with a powerful back hand and 100 mph serve. Given the opportunity, I would like to continue to improve my tennis game and ultimately play at the next level where I can also pursue my goal of obtaining a college degree.
