I could honestly say that I am a well-rounded athlete and sports fanatic. Sports have always played a massive part in my life. From the age of five, I started to play tee ball and my love for sports evolved. I grew as a baseball player and only recently stopped travel ball at age sixteen. During the summers, I was part of a local swim team and took to tennis over the summers. My love for the game grew year after year. I was at my happiest on the courts.
I made the official switch from baseball to tennis a few years ago but, did play travel baseball in the summers to keep active. I have been on Oak Lane Tennis USTA team since 2021, and last year the team qualified for states. I have been on varsity tennis at my high school since freshman year and was playing 3 doubles, sophomore year I grew to 2 doubles and made it to states semi-finals now as a junior and am at 1 doubles. I am a versatile player with doubles play but also succeed as a singles player.
I have volunteered at Oak Lane tennis for a season to help kids learn to play tennis. Currently, I have also volunteered at Sacred Heart University in CT to do all of the stats for the hockey team and also volunteered at the NCAA hockey tournament in March 2023. I have recently gained my certification for umpiring and will lifeguard this summer at a pool/tennis club.
Being on a sports team has taught me more about communication and how to work together for a common goal. To trust more and to be open to feedback (my mom always said feedback is a blessing). Your team, and coaches are people to count on and to bring my best to the team.
Playing college tennis, not only is a goal, but honestly it would be a dream come true. I am passionate, friendly, honest, respectful and competitive. What makes me stand out on a team is that I am coachable. I want to continue to progress and while some feedback may be difficult to swallow, I will use the feedback to learn and grow. My best foot will always be forward.
My college aspiration is to study communications, and to one day use the skills that I have learned and use them in a larger scale.
