I started playing tennis when I was eight years old, when my grandfather scheduled a private lesson for me with a pro in his community. I found the game so exciting from that first lesson. After this experience, my parents scheduled private lessons at a local tennis academy. I picked up the game pretty quickly, enjoying the time with my instructor while learning how to hit the ball, move my feet correctly, and use my left hand as an advantage over my opponents. I fell in love with the game while having fun, making new friends and learning how to stay focused.
I train all year long so I can get better mentally and physically. I have been playing for my high school varsity team since freshman year, first as a doubles player and then switching between doubles and singles, whereever my coach needs me. I enjoy every minute of it because I am playing tennis, being with my friends and teammates, and working hard.
I hope to play tennis in college while continuing my education in the field of marketing and communications. I think that these two fields of study will enable me to reach my goal of working in the sports field, with an interest in tennis. My ultimate goal is to work in sports media with an emphasis on tennis analysis. I believe my passion for tennis and interest in sports on a whole will enable me to be successful in the business world after college.
