My name is Ethan Milgan, aged 17 years, from India. I am born and brought up in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. My parents are both Dental Surgeons specialized in their own areas of interest. I am their only child, so it has its advantages and disadvantages… but my older cousin sister, is like my own sibling! While my paternal grandparents are still in Kerala, India; I have the privilege to grow up with my maternal grandparents in Dubai.
I am a student at GEMS Wellington Academy - Dubai Silicon Oasis for the last 8 years where I did my middle and high school. Prior to that, I did my primary and kindergarten classes within the GEMS school network. Academically, I have always balanced my studies and sports. I have always been inclined towards Math & Science, so I am more of a STEM kid because I like to be objective and methodical in my approaches. I have not yet found the artist or creative springs in me…
In Sport, Tennis is my chosen one! I have been an active kid and love to engage in physical activities. Apart from Tennis, I played for the School Basketball teams Under 12, 14 & 16. I enjoy Swimming (learned all the strokes) and Gym as a vital part of my health & fitness. Being an Indian, I gave a try at Cricket, hence played for the junior team for 2 years. I have been the School Tennis Sports Captain for 3 years and strived to create a fun atmosphere among peers.
I started playing fun Tennis from the age of 4 in group lessons and then moved to smaller groups, semi-private, individual classes over the years. I started playing competitive matches in the local academies for 12 years on weekends and started enjoying it. To keep my tennis interests and meet legends, I participated as a Ball Kid at the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships (2015, 2016 & 2017).
I aspire to become a Student-Athlete in college. I want to play under the tutelage of the coach at a higher level so that I can improve and reach the level of a college player. One attribute that I surely have is effort and dedication (currently outside of school, I train 20 hours every week). I also ensure to have a good attitude towards learning and will help others improve along their way as well.
I hope to become a good person and a well-natured man with respectable values. I hope, in whatever I end up doing, I will excel in it, and I dream to become a successful tennis player. These can be achieved only through the hard work I put in so that I can reap the benefits of it tomorrow.
