Gaston Murray '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Gaston Murray and I am a tennis player from Lake Worth, Fl. I am a 5-11, 165 pounds, and run the 40 yard dash in 4.6 secs. I play tennis for the USTA and also play high shool tennis for Park Vista. During my high school career. I have won districts as the #1 player once in 2011, and won regionals twice in 2009 and in 2011. During my freshman year, I made second team all-area and , during my sophmore year I made 2nd team all-area and for my junior year I made first team all-area for the Sun Sentinel and Won Palm Beach Post Player of the Year award. I won the 2011 4A Individual State Championship winning a total of four matches and taking out the #1 seed in the second round. Then I took second overall in the Overall State 4A State Championship in Sanlado, Fl. I lost to Ben Hwang who is ranked number 10 in the state of Florida. I am currently ranked 38th in the state of Florida.  
 
To begin with, I am a very hard worker who strives to make myself and also my teammates better everyday. The Competitive fire is what makes me most successful and also keeping a level head throughout tough competition. I love the atmosphere of a team competition as well as individual competition.   
 
Additionally, I would like to go to a big school in Florida. I am open to looking for schools outside of Florida as well. I want to major in Television/Communication. My goal is to make an immediate impact on a team and win a NCAA champiosnhip. Specifically, I believe my best fit would be a DI or DII school.
