I have just had a Stem Cell and Kidney transplant over the last 16 Months, so I am recovering from that still. It was very difficult because I not only had to do Chemotherapy and Radiation, but also got stage 4 Graft vs Host disease. Which in my experience is twice as bad as the Chemotherapy and Radiation. During this process I lost over 50 pounds which I have been able to gain back in the last few months. March, April, and May of 2021 the doctors at Stanford did not think I was going to make it and I was literally asking for death.
For all of my life I have had to battle with severe health conditions that has limited my abilities on the tennis court. It has always been a dream of mine to play college tennis. I did not think I was ever going to be able to even leave home. Now for the first time in my life, I know that I can leave home and play tennis. With dialysis and other health conditions not holding me back anymore; It gives me the ability to function almost normally now. Before I was functioning, the doctors said, not even at half of what a normal person does. I am doing physical therapy right now and am still unable to do a lot. I am back on the tennis court and even helped coach my high school team to 2nd place in state for boys and third place for girls.
If you have any questions feel free to reach out. Thank you for considering me for your team!
