I’m Layne Pogue, class of 2025. I played doubles for Shelbyville High School. I am only in my freshman year, and am starting varsity. I am consistently putting in the work during the off-season, and will be able to provide stats once season rolls back around. My goal as a tennis athlete is to be the best that I can be. I want to have fun on the court while competing in competitive matches. I have learned over the years that the amount of effort you put into your passion will take you far in life. My parents have taught me to give 100% effort when I go out on the court because, whether I am having a good day or a bad day, I showed effort and that I wanted to be out there. Attitude is also big when it comes to tennis and other activities. I always want to have a positive attitude because you never know who is watching you play. I show myself as the guy who is always smiling because it lets others know that I am having a good time. I don't just want to be the guy who watches. I want to be the guy that takes action and is a role model to his peers.
