Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is Anirudh and I am a tennis player from Bangalore, India. I have been playing tennis from when i was 8 years old. I am currently training at Srinath Academy of Tennis under coaches Srinath Prahlad and Dennis Hardeman. I have a National Ranking of 53 and an ITF juniors ranking of 856 (P.S my ITF ranking is going to improve as i will start playing more tournaments from now on). I am pretty strong academically and consistently am in the top 15 students of my class. I would love the chance to play college tennis at the division 1 or 2 level and would really appreciate a scholarship as without one I will not be able to afford to pay my way through college. I would prefer playing in the west coast because my relatives live in Washington and it would be convenient for me to visit them. However, i am willing to look at all available opportunities. I hope to receive a good amount of playing time. Playing time and scholarship money will be my top two factors in my decision.
I play both singles and doubles, but I prefer to play more singles than doubles. My goal is to win as many matches as possible. I also want to improve my game and take it to the next level.I feel that my biggest strengths are my tennis IQ and my mental toughness. I always look for ways to win, and love playing against tougher opponents. My ground strokes and my serve are my main weapons but I consider myself an all round player. I am a very hard worker and am prepared to do anything to win.I relish being given big challenges and rising to the occasion. I always give my best efforts, regardless of the circumstances and I really look forward to playing tennis as a team sport in a college that is a good fit for me.
