Personal Statement
I have been playing Tennis for about 14 years, and have been the number 1 in each age category at some point. I am currently #1 in the u18 division. In recent years I have dominated the local competition in my country. In 2022 I won the u18’s singles and doubles categories in the Sagicor junior Tennis Tournament. In 2023 I won the u18’s and u21’s singles and the senior doubles categories in The Catch National Tennis Tournament. I also recently won the u18’s/u21’s singles and senior doubles categories in the Sagicor junior Tennis Tournament, defending my title. I have reached a stage where I feel the need to take my talents elsewhere.
I believe that my work ethic has been the main factor to my success. Since exams have finished, I train 5 times a day 6 times a week. Twice on the court and 2-3 times in the gym. I am extremely dedicated to the sport and am constantly working to improve my skills and technique.
When I'm in a match the only thing that I can think of is to retrieve the next ball. My main strengths are my defence, speed, forehand, my resilience and my mentality. In the recent tournament I played, I was awarded with the most discipline sportsman award. The award was given to the player who was most respectful, kept his composure and was a good model for the younger generation of tennis players to look up to.
