Personal Statement
My name is Hurshvardhan (Hursh) Singh. Tennis has been my biggest passion ever since I first picked up a racquet when I was 7 years old, and currently train upwards of 4 times a week. Besides playing, I immerse myself by watching and analysing the sport.
On the court, my biggest strength is my tactical awareness. I am not scared of trying different things to win a match, and am able to adapt very well when things aren't going my way. My favourite shot is my forehand, as it is the shot I always look for. If I were to be on your team, you would be getting an extremely determined and competitive player who loves a team environment. My goals would be to win as much as possible with the team, while also enjoying the process. I am always willing to learn and expand my knowledge of the game to get better, and hence would be extremely coachable.
Off the court, my biggest passion is debate. I have debated around the world, and have won many awards. Debate has helped me develop a numerous number of skills which are transferrable to tennis. The entire essence of debate is problem solving, which is key to being able to be successful and win tennis matches. You also have to be able to listen in debate, and therefore I would be able to take advice from coaches/teammates well. Academically, I work hard in the classroom. I would like to study either Law or Economics at College.
