Fateh Singh Tenni...Personal Statement
I first stepped onto a tennis court at the age of three, when I would accompany my older sister to her lessons. I fell in love with the sport then and have been on the court ever since. Playing collegiate tennis is the next stepping stone in my hopes to play professional tennis. I believe that competing with some of the best players from around the world, under the mentorship of renowned coaches will allow my game to flourish.
I would be a good candidate for any team as I am extremely dedicated and disciplined to tennis. I take feedback well, understanding that my coaches want to push to achieve my full potential. Additionally, I believe it is extremely important to treat my teammates as well as my opponents with respect, because there is always something you can learn from someone else.
This attitude that I have fostered on the court translates over the classroom: I study hard, identify concepts I need to strengthen, and ask for help to improve upon those. I engage with all my classmates, trying to create an environment where all my peers feel comfortable in sharing their ideas.
I want to attend a college where I can compete at a high level, continue to better my game, and pursue my interests in business/management and sports.

- Reached semi finals in both singles and doubles. Beat multiple players with higher UTR and WTN than me en route to the semis. Paired with my Sri Lankan friend, we beat the 5th seeds in straight sets, 6:3,6:4, in the quarterfinals. Lost to the top seeds in the semis, but gave them a tough fight in the second set, losing in the tiebreak.

- Reached the finals of singles and finished as Runners Up. Was coming off a good previous tournament and played very well in this tournament. En route to the finals, I beat current India No.3, Samarth Sahita, very convincingly 6:3,6:1. In the finals, lost to Blue Chip Vihaan Reddy who has a UTR of 11, 2:6,4:6

- Reached quarter finals in singles and finished as Runners Up in doubles. In the quarterfinals, lost to Current India No.5 Aarjun Pandit who has a UTR of 11, in a close match that lasted for 3 hours. Score was 4:6,6:7.Paired up with fellow Indian Navya Verma and beat the 5th seeds 10-8 in the super tiebreak in the quarterfinals. In the semis, we beat the 2nd seeds in straight sets, 6:3,6:4. In the finals, lost a close and well contested match to the 3rd seeds, 5:7,4:6.
