Personal Statement

When I was only six years old, I picked up a tennis racquet. But as I was in my first session, the coach

Greg Royle at Newington College and my parents saw natural talent and a spark that has now turned into a flame. Over the last five years my talent has been nurtured by Greg Royle, John Curzon and Chris Steel. Three coaches in NSW who have formed my game. I am now moving to Melbourne to further my journey in Tennis with Lauren Breadmore at Wesley College. I am excited at the prospect of continuing my passion for Tennis and enriching the broader community and rich history of Wesley College.

Over the last eight years, I have played at Newington College and as part of the North-West Sydney Tennis Club winning various accolades including, 2022 Esca Stephen Cup, 2023 Presidents Cup and 2023 George McKerihan Shield Champions. On the 2023 Junior Tour I was 14U Doubles runners up at the Bathurst Tennis Championships and 14U Doubles Semi-finalist at Macarthur Tennis Championships. I hold a Junior Australian Ranking and am a keen player who is looking to go professional in near future.

Tennis has always been an inspiration for me. Watching all the grand slam and copying all the moves that professionals made on T.V. There are several puncture marks on living room wall that are testament to that. Sometimes I will spend the whole day fantasising about tennis and how I could play professionally one day. Recently, I visited Mouratoglou academy in Southern France for selection week and to experience what it is like to train as a professional tennis player. During the week, I was  pushed to my limits both physically and mentally. However, the week flew and before I knew it, I was on a flight back to Paris away from Mouratoglou. That week I discovered my true passion for tennis.

My journey with Tennis has not been smooth and has been like a roller coaster. From treating it as any other sport to starting to take sport seriously to striving to learn to recognising how the game is not only physical but mental. At the age of fourteen now, I continue to work on the mental aspect of the game. I am learning to stay in the match mentally to have a chance to win. Over the last two years, my mission has been to improve my mindset. This year, I have noticed results, with closer games and more victories. The results are what drive me and aspire me to play tennis. That said, when I play matches, they can go for up to 3 hours, but even after that much time, it feels as almost the time has flown by.

Tennis is an activity that is irreplaceable in my life. And I look forward to continuing my journey Wesley college and hoping to contribute to the rich history.
