Tennis, alongside good academics, have been my personal priority since I took up the sport as a five-year-old. I have dreamed of playing at the highest I possibly can, and I believe being a college athlete will be a critical step towards the achievement of this goal.
I have always enjoyed being in a team environment as it has always brought out the best of me. Whether it was a team sport such as rugby, field hockey or cricket and even doubles I have excelled immensely. Personally, I believe I am stronger in doubles than singles and it is evident through my results. These include an ITF under 18 Doubles title last year, CAT/ITF under 12s and several regional and national tournaments throughout my junior career.
I would like to be part of a team that helps me grow both as an athlete and person, that will push me through good and bad times and were I can be of good value. Having a coach that I trust and believe in is important.
I am confident my contribution to the team is a positive and hardworking mindset, discipline as well as a good support base. I also possess demonstrable leadership skills which have seen me taking on team leadership from primary to high school culminating in Club League team captaincy.
As a tennis player I have accrued many life lessons and I believe by becoming a college athlete I can only grow and become a better person.
