Personal Statement
It has always been a lifelong goal of mine to pursue tennis professionally. Tennis has been a major part of my life over the past 10 years, where I was able to develop discipline and perseverance and often times tested my commitment to the sport. In 2020 and in 2022, I played #1 singles for Trinidad and Tobago's national team in World Juniors Qualifying and in Junior Davids Cup Qualifying, respectively. Those experiences taught me how to work in a team with my coaches and teammates for our development and success.
As it pertains to my collegiate goals and aspirations, I intend to excel in all areas. Academically, I am enthusiastic about embarking on my studies in Accounting, where I can broaden my knowledge base and open myself up to new challenges and opportunities. In class, I am dedicated, hard-working, achievement orientated, and excellent at time management. My time management skills have allowed me to balance athletics and academics, maintaining a 3.03 GPA, which I intend to maintain and even better it in my final year in high school 6th form.
I am a hard-working, committed, and resilient player on court, which has yield to its successes over the years. Being on the national team has allowed me to grow in my ability and taught me the value of teamwork in terms of feedback and leadership. It is my ultimate goal to be a part of a collegiate tennis team where I can work with my teammates and coaches developing my game, opening myself to new possibilities and hopefully to bring the team to championship glory.
