James Beckley '27 Recruiting Profile

I started playing tennis in 8th grade and have worked hard to improve my game, raising my UTR from 1.13 to 4.70 in two years (with a three-month trending UTR of 5.09). As a freshman at duPont Manual, I earned a varsity letter and was named "Most Improved Player" by my coach. Competing in 17 USTA Level 6 and higher tournaments this year has helped me grow both as a player and a competitor.

Off the court, I take my academics seriously, maintaining a 3.76 GPA while taking advanced and AP classes. Balancing a demanding schedule of training and competition with academics has taught me discipline and strengthened my work ethic. I’m dedicated to continuing my growth as both a player and student, and I am committed to playing varsity tennis at the collegiate level while pursuing my academic goals.
