Garrett Goeden '19 Recruiting Profile

Tennis is my passion! Simply put, I could play the game every day with both a smile on my face and a competitive edge. I’ve been playing tennis since a very young age and have learned the love of the game from hours of court time with my family.

I feel that I could contribute to your team not only with my tennis skills, but more importantly my positive attitude, work ethic, flexibility, and coachability. I am coachable in that I am willing to listen and try new things to improve my game. I am flexible and adaptable to different situations and environments. I am willing to contribute in whatever position or role that is best for the entire team. I learn very quickly and understand the game well enough that I can quickly understand coaching instructions, techniques, and strategy. I feel that I can also independently make necessary adjustments based on my opponents’ strengths and weaknesses during match play.

My goals include being successful as a college athlete and also as a student. I have been a 3 sport varsity athlete for many years and feel very skilled at time management. I am accustomed to keeping up with school work from missing so much school and feel these skills will transfer well to college. I am a leader in both the classroom and on the court. I have been a captain and know how to get my team “fired up”, focused, and ready! I am good with words of encouragement and use of humor. I feel that I am a well-rounded person and look forward to being coached by you!
