Being a collegiate tennis player has always been my ultimate dream! I was brought up in a tennis family. My mom was a collegiate tennis player and my high school tennis coach. I have loved tennis from the time I could walk. I am extremely motivated to play tennis at a higher level and believe my instilled work ethic makes me an excellent candidate. Being from rural Minnesota, I have been limited in the time I have been able to play tennis throughout the year. I have played mainly during my sports season and some in summer. Off season tennis has been more challenging as we have limited access to indoor facilities and I also am in multiple sports and music activities in school. I do try to get to an indoor tennis facility 2 times a month in winter. It is an hour away, so I do the best I can to play a little in winter to keep up some skills. I am a three sport varsity athlete which has taught me to budget my time wisely, be a great team player and leader in multiple sports settings. I feel I am a kind person and have done well in individual and team sports. In addition, I have been brought up in an agriculture family and have been required to work several hours on the farm each week. I have great work ethic and will do what it takes to get a job done right. Although I am very active in multiple activities, tennis has always been my favorite sport and have done whatever it takes to be as good as I can be, especially with the time I am able to put into it. I am hoping to go to a college, dedicate myself to the sport of tennis as well as keeping my academics at a high level. I want to be the best player and teammate I possibly can be with the practice needed to get better. I have been in two Minnesota state individuals singles tournaments and know I have the capabilities to challenge myself at a higher level. I truly believe I have a lot of potential if given the opportunity to play collegiate level. Being able to play with high level players on a daily basis can only grow my own game and learning. I will do whatever it takes to be the best tennis player and teammate I am capable of being. I feel my main assets that set me aside from many people are my work ethic, desire to challenge myself to be the best tennis player I can if given better access to year round tennis, my drive and motivation as well as my ability to get along well with others. I am so excited and hoping to have an opportunity to play collegiate tennis.
