My name is Thane Waite and I am a Senior at Adams Central High School in Hastings Nebraska. I am planning to pursue a Degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Studies and my Career Goal is to become a Crime Scene Investigator.
During my High School years I have participated in: Tennis in the Fall (4 Year Varsity Starter in both Singles and Doubles), Golf in the Spring (this Spring will be my 4th Year as a Varsity Starter), and Baseball in the Summers (this Summer will be my 4th Year as a Senior Legion Player). During the Winter I work on conditioning for Baseball and Tennis and throughout the Year I participate in the High School Tennis Academy in Grand Island Nebraska, taught by Josh Budler (Certified USTA Tennis Professional). I also receive "one on one" Lessons from Josh and during the past 2 Summers I have played in a limited number of USTA Junior Tournaments and Local Tennis Tournaments. I am also a 4 Year Member of my High School Band in the Percussion Section. I am currently the Section Leader for the Bass Drums. For the past 2 years I have also worked part time at a local Golf Course. I am a quick learner, a dedicated Teammate, and have a very strong work ethic. My desire is to continue to play competitive Tennis (Singles and/or Doubles) at the Collegiate Level.
One of the most important lessons I've learned from the Individual Sports that I participate in (Singles Tennis and Golf) is that you cannot do well and cannot be successful if you are anything less than 100% invested in putting in the time and effort to make yourself the best player you can be. You also must be able to recognize when adjustments are needed and be able to make those adjustments quickly. When playing Doubles Tennis both partners must be able to recognize the "strong" and "weak" points of each others game to determine how they can work together to beat the opponents on the other side of the Court. I very much look forward to continuing to improve my Tennis skills and abilities by learning from my College Coaches and Teammates.
