Matthew Ledford '12 Recruiting Profile

  My name is Matthew Ledford.  I am 5'9" and 160 lbs.  I am a senoir this year and am looking for a good college fit for me.  I have been able in high school so far to win my confernce tournament both my sophmore and junior year.  I also have been named all confernce 2 years running.  My junior year Iwas named conference player of the year.  I have also had 2 straight team MVP awards.  My junior record was 18-4 including a second round loss in regionals to the eventual state runner up.  I will be valuable to a college team because of my leadership, work ethic, and love of the game.  I was thrown into a leadership position my first year as I took over the #1 seed my sophmore year.  I had to lead our team, even though we were not very good.  I have always been a natural leader whether it be in other sports or in school work so we were able to grow as a team.  I also can benefit a college team because of my work ethic.  I know that I will have to battle and earn everything in this life, nothing will ever be handed to me, so knowing that led me to dedicate my time to learning and practicing the game of tennis.  I want more than anything to be the best I can be and I also know with that desire comes committment, effort, and determination.  I am interested in any school that can give me a great education along with a good tennis program to challenge me and help me reach my potential.  I am willing to go anywhere that will let me play.  I dont want to go to a college where i will not be able to start my whole career; I want to play and enjoy the God-given ability that I have.
