I am a multi sport athlete with a burning ambition to become a student athlete in university and excel in tennis, my favorite sport . I have a great passion for participating and competing in this phenomenal sport . I started playing tennis when I was three. I have pushed myself for many years now to reach the present level of tennis that I am now able to produce on the tennis court. The past few years I have been really trying to improve my mental game to succeed on the court . I have pushed through qualifications to be given an opportunity to play in big tournaments such as provincials and selections. I am first year sixteens and I am already starting to dominate the under 16 provincial circuits. With already three championships in under 16 provincial circuits and many second places, my break through year is coming. My current UTR is 8.71 and is still going up. My ranking has gone up so much since last year. For example I was only under 400 in Canada at the beginning of the year. Now my ranking is 165 in Canada. After all my years of playing tennis, I have l discovered that tennis is a very challenging sport that not all people can afford. Therefore, I feel very fortunate to be able to play it. As I am going into grade 10, my second junior year, I will strive to maintain a balance between tennis and school. In that way I will be able to achieve good grades and still work on my tennis game and the components that need work. I am looking for a school that has an even balance between my time in the classroom and on the court. I would like to go to a university with an excellent academic reputation in the field of sciences. With my athletic ability and sportsmanship, I would be one of the competitors that could make an immediate impact on the team. I believe my best fit would be at the NCAA or NAIA divisions. I will be honored to train hard and fight hard for the school I’m playing on. Yours truly, Andrew Fang |
