I started playing tennis recreationally in the summers during my elementary and middle school years. Every Spring I played club baseball all the way through eighth grade. During my freshman year in high school, the tennis coach showed me the potential I had as a tennis player and I made a tough choice to leave baseball and commit to tennis. I was the only freshman on the varsity squad and I loved competing against older players who pushed me to sharpen my game. While tennis is my top sport and the sport I will play in college, I also played high school football for two years, currently am a member of the ski team, and train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and boxing in my spare time. The intensity and discipline of these sports help to improve my tennis game and to make me mentally and physically tough on the court. Outside of high school, I participate in strength and conditioning training, private tennis lessons, and the Pacific University Tennis Academy. I also take pride in challenging myself in the classroom, taking a full load of AP classes and holding a 3.73 GPA. My dream is to continue as a student-athlete at the next level and to be a major contributor on a winning collegiate tennis program.
