Kie Jones '13 Recruiting Profile

I was District Champion my 7th and 8th grade year in Boy's Singles and won all the school tournaments I participated in my 8th grade year. Played in the Black and Gold tennis circuit (West Texas) this summer. I won the 14-year-old division and decided I needed more competition so I moved up to/competed in the 16-year old division. I placed second twice in two of tournaments. I participated in five of these tournaments this summer. I am 5"9 and weigh about 165 pounds. My speed is about medium level, but I have pretty good foot work. I started playing tennis in 2007. It is my dream to play college tennis and maybe become a club pro or play professionally. I spend at least four hours a day during the school year on the court when weather permits. In the summer I usually spend four to eight hours a day on the court. I would like to attend Texas A&M, Baylor, Texas Tech, or Pepperdine University, but am open to any college or university. I would like to be in the Texas A&M or Pepperdine University Veterinary Medicine Program or the Baylor College of Medicine Program. I would prefer a college or university with high academic standards and any size is fine. My major is currently undecided but I am interested in pursuing something the medical field.I am active in my church and its youth group. My goals for college tennis would be to start as a freshman. I would also like to do well in college tennis overall and eventually play some professional tournaments.
