I am a 5’8" / 135 lbs. tennis player from Haslet, TX and in my junior year. During team tennis this fall, our team went to the playoffs and lost to Wichita Falls Rider 11-7 (I won both of my playoff matches). I played mixed doubles where we went undefeated in district play (9-0), an overall season record of 15-2, and named 1st Team All District Doubles. My fall district singles record was 7-2 and 13-4 overall, and I received Academic All-District and District Honorable Mention Singles. This spring I am playing #1 singles. Last fall, I played in #1 doubles and #2 singles and last spring I was the top singles player on the team. I was selected as the MVP and most improved player of the year during my freshman year and received Academic All District Honors my sophomore and junior year. In addition to taking private lessons and attending drills 4-5 times a week with Paul Wagner all summer, I play in USTA tournaments year round, and run on the Varsity cross country team to improve my endurance for tennis (17:51 5K and 5:05 mile). I have a 3.85 GPA, am a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and enrolled in the Business Academy as well as play first chair violin (concert master) in the high school symphony and chamber orchestras.
I am leaning toward physics as my college field of study and would like to pursue a university with a good academic reputation and am open to locations throughout the US. I would like to be in a tennis program that develops players to their highest potential, because I believe there is always room for improvement in my game.
