9 years, and it all began with a poster on a lamp post. Ever since 7 year old me first saw that tennis poster and thought, “I wanna play tennis,” I’ve been committed to always pushing myself to be the best player I can be. Now that I’m older, I want to attend a college where I can continue pushing my limits and become the best I can be. Being a student-athlete starts in the classroom, however, where I maintain at least a 4.1 GPA and an attitude of dedication to being a model student and a role model for others. I apply myself to volunteer work as well, as I volunteer at the Loudoun Literacy Foundation and my school’s tennis camp for children. I also have a history of work, coaching High Performance classes at Blue Chip Tennis Academy, where I have learnt a new respect for being coachable. In and out of practice and games, I make it a point to respect all advice or criticism and take it to heart, as I am always pushing for improvement. On the court, I strive to keep a level head and not buckle to any pressure, always adapting my strategy to keep my opponent on their toes
I’m a team player, and I make sure to put the good of the team above my own. As part of a team, I always try to keep a positive attitude and overall good mood amongst my teammates, leading by example in switching to a focused mindset when it's time to work. I was the recipient of the Coach’s Award for my dedication to the team, and I currently lead my team as captain.
I want to attend a college where my dedication to academics can flourish just as my devotion to playing tennis at the highest level can too. More than anything, I want to find the school that fits me, where I know I can continue pushing myself to be the best I can be.
