I want to be a college athlete because I love to pole vault. I want to continue to improve and compete with other good athletes while furthering my education. I believe that with my competitiveness and hard work ethic I would be a positive asset to a college team. By the end of the 2012 season I had a personal record of 10'. In the fall of 2012 and winter 2013 I attended Bell Athletics in Arkansas. In the spring of 2014 I attended Ryland Pole Vault in Florida. I currently hold my high school pole vaulting record of 13'.
I feel that coaches can lead me down the right path to be a successful vaulter. I have been told that I am coachable. I have made steady improvements during the 3 years I have pole vaulted. Another strength I possess is the ability to work well with and encourage my teammates. As I am an uprising senior I realize the importance of being a leader and showing a positive attitude and outlook towards my teammates. I know that I can show my teammates and athletes from other teams what good sportsmanship looks like. I am easy going, can get along with others, and can communicate with my coaches.
I work hard in all my classes to maintain a good GPA. I have a love for history and want to go into the law field. If I am recruited I will work extremely hard to be a leader on and off the field. I know I can be a good addition to any athletic program because of my strength in my sport and with my attitude.
