My name is Dawson Ribeiro

I am a Junior at Semiahmoo Secondary School in White Rock, British Columbia.  My name is quite well known in our community because of my personality around others, accomplishments in cross-country, track and field and many other high school and club sports teams.  

School

I have lead my high school cross-country team to win 3 Surrey banners, 2 junior Fraser Valley banners, and this past year our first ever senior Fraser Valley Championships banner.  I have won three personal aggregates in cross-country thus far aswell. I have also lead my high school track team into 4 Surrey Banners, 3 junior Fraser Valley banners, and this coming year we are going to win our first Senior banner in track!

Club

I used to train with Ocean Athletics (A club in South Surrey) for 4 years but i moved to a more elite club named(Coastal Athletics) as of this past june. In these past 6 months with the new club i have noticed significant improvements in my overall technique and times in general.

Goals

My goal is to enter into a high division college or university with a graphics design or computer engineering course,  my interests also lie in Architecture, Engineering and Construction. 

Why should I be selected?

For the past 4 years of high school i have been volunteering at track and cross-country meets. I am reliable and perform my best under pressure and high stress circumstances. I know how to schedule and manage my time well. I have been working for 8 months now 3-4 days a week and coping with school and training 7 days a week as well. Im great at working in a group and on my own and I have been known to inspire the younger generation around me.
