Raehaan Poonja '16 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I was little | have always been extremely competitive, whether in the classroom or on the field/track. Being first has been a priority. Joining the track and field team as a freshman at Beverly Hills High School was the best decision I have ever made. Going straight to varsity as a freshman and being the only 100m runner on my team gave me a chance to receive lot of attention and work from my coaches. This finally led to me being able to run Arcadia as a freshman to run the 1600m SMR and get 2nd in the invitational heat and 1st in the same relay at Mt.Sac. Also, placing 2nd in league as a freshman in the 100m dash. All of these successes propelled me into my sophomore and now junior year to train harder and do better and better in track. Being successful on the track also made me want to be successful in the classroom by taking multiple APs and honors classes. Track has been my entire high school life and I cannot see a future without track. Everything I do everyday revolves somehow around track. Running track in college will only benefit my overall life. It will push me to become smarter, faster, and a better leader. I hope to attend a school that will let me excel academically and athletically.
