My name is Justin Sample, I am 5'8, 135 pounds, and run the mile, two mile, and 4 by 400mr for the first time, as this is my first year of track. The mile is my main event and I focus on that, but I love to run so much that I would run everything if I could. I don't have a personal trainer, but I have learned a lot from another teammate, Abdias Gomez.I may be an athlete and am supposed to see everyone as competition, but I also see them as friends and people with experience I may not have. So, when someone is better than me I don't see it as a bad thing I see it as a learning opportunity. That doesn't just go for sports, I'm also a musician that needs to learn, so I believe this attitude is easily integrated into other aspects of life. I would love my college major to be music education/performance, and become a studio musician. I want to do this because I have been playing sax for 4 1/2 years and absolutely love it. I am extremely coachable, and determined to get better. Some of my goals for this season is to get under 5 minutes in the mile, and get below an 11:05 on the two mile.
