My goals that I want to accomplish in college are to make it on the starting seven for Cross Country, contribute and help my team succeed, make life long friends, and earn a degree in the career of my choice. Things that make me a good candidate for the team are that I am a hardworker, good teammate, I'm a leader when called upon, I stay true to myself and be the best that I can be. Something that makes me different from other recruits is how mentally resilient I am. When I race, my mind stays focused, helps me with my performance in races and allows me to make good decisions when running or racing. Another thing that makes me different from other recruits is how much I want to be a reliable teammate. During runs when one of my teammates is falling behind I sometimes check to make sure they are feeling ok and on race days I try to motivate my team before and during races by encouraging them to stay with me and to use me as a way to maintain their pace. My teammate recognized this and at the end of the season they nominated me for Best Teammate Award for 2019.
