I began my Freshman year in high school not having done track at the middle school level. I joined cross country first to stay in shape for soccer, but at training for cross country the varsity team would do different workouts than JV which I was, at the time. I asked my coach how I could get on the Varsity team and he explained that the top 7 runners times get a chance to run with the varsity team at meets. At my very first meet, running at Woodward park, I was able to get the 7th best time of my team. And as time went by I quickly rose up from a nobody to the top distance runner Edison high has ever had. My athleticism and work ethic to become the best has drove me to want to be the top of my school and city. My work ethic also shows in the classroom as i was able to get a 4.0 my last semester Freshman year. My sophomore year i took on 2 AP classes while doing 2 sports. It was a challenge at first but my last quarter i have maintained a 3.71 GPA.
