Stefano Matteucci '23 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coaches, my name is Stefano Matteucci.

 I'm a Senior at Granada High School.  I started playing baseball and basketball in grade school and turned to cross country during my Freshman year in High School.

During my sophomore year, my cross country coaches encouraged me to also compete in Track and Field (Shot Put and Discus) due to my increasing stature. Though the season was shortened by the COVID pandemic, not only did I qualify for the Varsity team, but I was able to set new personal records at each of the competitions that I attended (in my first year of competion). 

My performances at these events ultimately resulted in my qualifying to participate in the East Bay Athletic League and the Nor-Cal Track and Field Championships.   

During the off-season, I have been working diligently on my strength and technique at Cal Strength Training and Throw Labs, respectively. I intend to set new records this coming season and ultimately break my high school's longstanding discus & shot put records.   This is the attitude that I bring, in competition, that I hope will ultimately inspire my team to excel in their performances too.

My extracurricular activities include Scouting, which I started as a Cub Scout. I'm on track to become an Eagle Scout by the end of my Senior year. Academically, I average a 3.0 GPA and qualified for Honor Roll all of my Sophmore Year.

I would greatly appreciate your consideration, to include me in your school's athletic program for the incoming class of 2023.  I know it will have a positive impact on the institution that decides to call me a member of their team.
