The people that influenced me to be the person I am today is my family. My mom, dad, and sisters all encouraged me to be my best. My sisters and I were always competing, in sports and the family games, we played. As I entered into middle school I continued competing with more kids from around the county which really boosted my interest. I saw that this was something that I could do well and really had fun doing it.
Through track, I learned to have self-discipline and to work hard, which is a characteristic that will help me in the near future. My high school academic goals are to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to pursue my dream of going to college, and to obtain a degree in a technology or engineering related field. However, the challenges that I struggle with today is to remain focused, especially when there are so many teen distractions. This is something that I am aware of and I work very hard each day to stay on task and not lose sight of my dream.
In addition to sports, I have taken bass guitar lessons for several years and play for our church three times per week. When not playing music I assist with the audio and visual equipment setup for the sound room and live stream for my church services. Music is something that has helped me develop my timing and is also a fun way to relax in my free time.
