I would make an excellent candidate for your team because I am passionate about the sport of track and love being part of a team. I have been a captain for the last two years and have helped my teammates achieve their goals, as well as striving to reach my own. Unfortunately, I suffered a stress fracture my junior year during football and it prevented me from training through some of the track season. While I was able to compete and post some personal bests, it was not what I was hoping for and I am confident that with a full, healthy season, I will be able to significantly improve my times this upcoming year. Throughout high school, I have been a year-round athlete and have learned how to balance academics and athletics and excel at both of them. I have also participated in student government as senior class secretary and given back to the community by regularly working at a soup kitchen which has helped me develop my leadership and communication skills . I am looking forward to continuing my track and academic career at the collegiate level and am excited to find a school that is the best fit for me.
