My athleticism, love and level of understanding for track and field shows with the consistency of my performances every year. Currently my PR in the 100m stands at 10.84 and 22.25 in the 200m. My goal in track for this year is to run at the CIF State Championship, PR in the 100m at 10.7 and 21.9 in the 200m and retain my title as TCC League Overall MVP.
Since the age of 10 when I first began running youth track I’ve achieved some major accomplishments. I qualified and participated in the 2013 USATF Junior Olympics for the 100m and Long Jump. In 2015 I was the Sac-Joaquin Section, Delta Valley League JV Champion for the 100m and 200m, lead my team to victory as the Delta Valley League JV Champions for the 4x100 m relay. In 2015, I also qualified again for the USATF Junior Olympics for the 200m. In 2016, I qualified and participated in the Sacramento Meet of Champions for the 100m and 200m, I was the Sac-Joaquin Section, TCC 100m and 200m Varsity Champion and named the League Overall MVP.
I am the Captain of my track team, which carries a lot of responsibility, leading by example both on and off the track. My goals in life are to graduate from high school and to further my educational growth by attending a college or university when I can pursue my dream of becoming a physical therapist and also have the opportunity to showcase my athleticism at the collegiate level. I am very actively involved with my school’s activities and events, participating in student leadership and I am also a member of the Black Student Union Club. Outside of school, I volunteer working with youth at a non-profit organization, the Roberts Family Development Center. I am a 4-yr letter man in football, 4-year letterman in track and field and 2-year letterman in basketball. Currently my GPA is 2.5. Balancing academics, athletics and extra-curricular activities has had its challenges at times; however, I’ve maintained to continuously challenge myself academically every year by taking rigorous coursework to better prepare myself for my post-secondary education.
I want to make sure that I leave behind a legacy, showing my teammates the importance of commitment, having a strong work ethic and the will to win. If given the opportunity, I would be an asset to any college or university that would allow me to join their program.
