I grew up in a soccer family. My older sister played soccer, my uncle, cousins, grandpa, great grandpa…all played. I have played soccer since I was 5 years old, club soccer at the elite level, Varsity player freshman and sophomore year. At the end of my sophomore year I decided to give up soccer and concentrate solely on track. I have run track since I was 12, but it was always my second sport. I had never given track my 100% attention. This was the year to do that, unfortunately I pulled a hamstring early in the season. I was out for most of the 2018 season, but was healthy enough to run in the CIF SS Finals for my 4X400 team and PR with a 49.3 split. If I was healthy this season I am sure I would’ve broken 50 in my individual 400. I love the 400, but also run the 200 and am on both the varsity relay teams. I may try run the 800 my senior season and I am open to run anything or try anything that my coach asks me to.
I also surf, snowboard, wakeboard, mountain bike, cycle. I have always loved track, I love being able to run against my own time, strive to PR and to improve. I also love being a part of the relay team, of working together for a common goal. Our 4x400 team was in the CIF SS Finals my sophomore and junior year.
I have been told that I am very coach-able as I seek the knowledge of others to improve myself. I work hard in school as well as my sports and I’m not afraid to push myself past my limits. I love Math and Science and am in AP classes in school. I am on ASB. I help tutor other students in Math. I am ready to go to a four year college and run track at the collegiate level. I have overcome injuries and asthma; I work harder than other athletes because I know what it takes to come back from an injury and not to take anything for granted. I have handled my asthma through diet. I believe a healthy lifestyle reflects on the track. I believe I am unique as I not only have God given talent; I have the drive and work ethic that coaches love. I will listen to their criticism or tips and implement their plans. I look forward to what my future holds. I truly enjoy life and will push myself to be the best that I can be in anything that I pursue.
