I would like to get a degree in criminology. I love helping others, whether it's on the field, in my classroom, or just out in public. I am respectful to everyone that I meet and I believe in showing kindness. I would love to serve my community by protecting others and keeping them safe. This is why I would like to work in law enforcement.
I have a passion for working hard and being the best that I can be. This requires self-discipline and determination. I push myself to be better than I was the day before. I am coachable, responsible and always have a positive attitude. I would describe myself as a genuine person who doesn't try to be like anyone else. I just try to be the best version of me.
I love playing sports and have participated in taekwondo, soccer, basketball, football and track. The schools that I attended for elementary and junior high did not have sports programs. My parents enrolled me in a variety of sports available through the city. When I was in the 8th grade, my dad signed me up for a speed, strength and agility youth camp with Coach Curtis Allen at College of the Sequoias. I really enjoyed all of the drills that they had me do. Coach Allen and several of the track athletes told me that I had talent and encouraged me to try out for track. The following week, my dad signed me up for the City of Porterville Youth Track and Field Meet on April 16, 2016. This was the very first time that I ever competed in track and I loved it. I received 1st place in the 100M (12.4), 200M (25.9) and 400M (58.1). My dad then signed me up with the USA Wings Track & Field Club in Visalia. During my first race, I felt a pop in my hip and a rush of pain. I had a hip flexor strain. The doctor said that this was a very common injury for a sprinter my age. I rested for 6 weeks as my doctor ordered and then started to train again. I was able to compete at a varsity level my freshman year. During a relay race at the beginning of my sophomore and junior years, I pulled my hamstring. My trainer, Tye McCord, told me that my minor setback would be my major comeback. I was not able to compete the last 2 years but I have been working really hard to make a comeback my senior year.
