The most prominent quality that separates me from many recruits, regardless of their talent, is hustle and determination. When I started my running journey, I was by far the least talented on my high school team; however, I was the most consistent. Through consistency and constantly exerting all that I have with every training session, I actually surpassed my colleagues despite starting at a lower level. Furthermore, the pandemic, although tragic, served as a testament to my self-sufficiency; to elaborate, the pandemic obviously inhibited us student athletes from meeting to train for a large portion of the year. During this hiatus, I established my own organized schedule, consisting of all of the training components that are required for development in the world of distance running- whether that's aerobic base building, threshold/tempo training, progression runs, occasional strength training, etc. My collegiate aspirations are to simply be the best that I can possibly be, whether that's competing in the D1 league, or simply PR-ing with every race. Academically, I'm pronounced. I take my education very seriously, not allowing my grades to fluctuate unnecessarily. I have successfully taken a number of AP and IB courses, and foresee myself continuing to take IB throughout high school. All in all, I can assure any recruiters this: I will give it my all when it comes to running, and I will make my discipline known.
