Though I have always enjoyed running, prior to my freshman year of high school I had no track and field experience. I decided to give the sport a shot after the basketball season with a plan to compete in the 400m and 800m like my father, who had attended college on a full track and field scholarship.
While I had initially intended to pursue those events, I push myself to create my own legacy. I take a similar approach to academics as well. I was inducted into the National Honor Society early in my Junior year, I maintain a weighted 4.3 GPA, and take multiple advanced and AP classes.
My interest is in continuing to develop as a track and field athlete in a number of events and compete in the Decathlon in college. My expectation is that I can be a contributor as a collegiate freshman at the conference level, with a goal of being a national meet qualifier as an underclassman.
I am coachable, driven, goal oriented, and focused on contributing to my team’s successes.
