Matthew Lobojko '21 Recruiting Profile

My passion for running began when I was 8 when I ran my first 5k and won my age group.  It has been my dream ever since to be able to compete at the collegiate level.  My high school running experiences and the relationships I’ve built are some of my best memories.  I want to find a college that has a family like team where I can continue to develop as a runner and contribute to the school as a leader in running and in academics.

 One of my top goals was to make the cross country state meet last year.  Two of the best high school teams in all of the US are in my local conference – 5A.  I knew going into 2019 that I had to step up my effort and I proved to myself that I could compete with the top runners by qualifying for the state meet.  I was the first male runner from my school in 10 years to make it.    I’ve been named MVP in XC my first 3 years and I’m shooting for that award my senior year.  I have been injury free throughout high school.  I am highly motivated and determined to continue to improve and be an asset to a college team.
