James Talbot '25 Recruiting Profile

I’m James C. Talbot, a junior at Rangely Junior/Senior High with a 3.95 GPA and a love for running. I’m reaching out because I’m serious about running track and cross country in college.

In class, I push myself just like I do in a race; that’s why I’m already tackling college Algebra and English Comp. On the track, I run the 3200M in 9:51.69, placed 3rd in the 1600m at state with a 4:24.73, and clocked in an 800m at 2:01.14. I took home a win at the Whistle Pig Inv with a 16:38.00 and came 6th in the State Cross Country Championships with a 16:44.08. These numbers show I’m ready to compete at a higher level.

When I’m not running, I’m involved in FBLA, which sharpens my leadership skills, and I have acted in our school’s drama productions. My commitment goes beyond school—I'm active in church and our community’s Main Street program. Also, I’m a licensed drone pilot, which shows I can handle tech and responsibility.

I’m looking for a college program where I can be a key player on the team and grow as a student-athlete. I’m all about setting goals and smashing them, and I’m excited to see how far I can go with the right training and academic environment.
