My name is Alan Shapera, and I am a senior at Guilford High School. Throughout my school years, I participated in a variety of sports including swimming, soccer, basketball, crew, and track. I only started running track last year, but it has quickly become one of my favorite and most enjoyable sports. I have put in a lot of time and effort to get better, and I am confident that I will make significant progress this year.
Like any athlete, injuries are common. I have personally experienced setbacks in my training, but I have spent a significant amount of time researching ways to not only improve my performance in my sport but also to prevent injuries and aid in recovery. My passion for sports and my interest in medicine have led me to pursue a career in the medical field, specifically in sports medicine. Helping others in the same way that I have helped myself so that everyone can achieve their full potential, whether it be on the field or in everyday life, is my ultimate goal.
I am excited about the opportunity to join your track and field team and contribute to its success while pursuing my academic and career goals in sports medicine. My commitment to excellence, passion for both athletics and medicine, strong character, and dedication make me a valuable candidate who is ready to make a difference on and off the track.
