Plato believed that the more we learn, the more we realize we don't know the full truth. I try to take this philosophy into both my academic and athletic careers. I am constantly trying to challenge myself academically, by enrolling in the highest classes at my school, as well as the classes that will give me a strong base in my economic major. I also attempt to apply this same thinking to track and field. Last year, for example, I was put in the hurdle relay halfway through my outdoor season because we didn't have enough hurdlers to compete. This one race sparked my love for hurdles, and I am striving to improve everyday. I know that I still have so much to learn about race strategy, mechanics, and other aspects of sprinting and hurdling, which is why this summer I am going to work with a coach on improving my ability.
