I've always been academically strong. Ever since I took Algebra 1 in 7th grade I held myself at a higher standard academically than most. I started doing dual enrollment freshman year and still do it now as a senior. I spent freshman and sophomore year at South Tech Academy where their only sports team was Rugby at the time. I switched to John I. Leonard Junior year and thus began my first year on a track team. I've always been academically strong, as I said before, but after getting my butt handed to me Junior year, I decided I want to look back at high school, college and have the comfort that I did more than have my head in a textbook. I want to work on something that can't be studied or memorized but refined through hours of training. Much like a video game, how many professionals put thousands of hours into playing the game, I want to put the hours into track and have something to show for it.
