2022 Spotlight
Dillon Mantei 160...Growing up I've always been an athlete. I started at eight years of age going to the gym with my dad and later to competing in Tae Kwon Do where I earned a 3rd degree black belt and qualified for the AAU national tournament multiple times. Sports provided me a way stay healthy, measure self-improvement and enjoy a community while still getting my competition fix. When I got to high school, I was looking for something new and fell into running almost by accident. I've been hooked ever since that first long hot practice. I am currently a sophomore, and I know I've still got a long way to go but I'm committed to learning and improving. I'm discovering that the focus and discipline needed for excellence in sports also provides a great template for other things like academic achievement. And while I enjoy the competitive aspect of running, I'm always trying to just be a better me.
