My goal is to participate in track and field at the collegiate level. At the end of my sophomore year in high school, I wanted to be good at shot put but I really didn't understand what it would take to reach that goal. I attended a throwing camp organized by Olympian Reese Hoffa, and I asked him what I needed to do to get better. At the time I weighed about 160 pounds. He told me that I needed to get bigger if I ever wanted to be serious about throwing the shot put.
It was like a lightbulb went off in my head.
So I started working to get bigger.
