My passion for running began my freshman year of high school as it was my first season in cross country. I was so excited to break the freshman record at Habersham Central and started to see a future in the sport. As I was also a soccer player at the time, I had some injuries that prevented me from playing which led me to make cross country and track my main sport. Academics are extremely important to me and I strive to excel not only on the track but also in the classroom.
I am highly motivated to be the best athlete and student possible and enjoy the challenges of both. I also believe in serving others and am able to show this passion with the charitable program I started called Shoes For The Sham (a tie to our county Habersham). I feel that I am a coachable athlete and will take advice given to me well and apply it to my running. Throughout my running career I have experienced obstacles mostly coming from injuries that have occurred. In particular, an ankle injury that occurred my freshman year the day before my regional meet was initially devastating. However, I eventually became more determined than ever to not only recover, but to become an even stronger runner than I was before. I take these injuries as just part of my journey as an athlete and it has shaped me to grow my faith and commitment.
