Michael Slagowski '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm a distance runner from Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian, Idaho, and will be graduating in 2016. During my first three years as a High School runner, I've accomplished many things that have helped me become closer to achieving my goals.

During my Freshman year, our Cross Country and Track team both won 5A State titles. During my Sophomore Track season, I placed 2nd in the Arcadia Invitational in the Rising Stars Mile, running a 4:18. Also in Arcadia, our 4x800 team won the invitational section, and I ran a 1:54.47 split. After that, I ran my current 3200m PR of 9:24. At the 2014 State Track meet, I placed 2nd in the 1600, running a 4:16. Three weeks later, I became the Border Duel 1500m Champion, running a meet PR of 3:53.14.

In the 2014 Cross Country season, I ran a 15:34 at Nike Pre Nationals and placed fifth. At Districts, I ran a PR of 15:21, and at NXN Northwest Regionals I finished in 10th place. At the Simplot Games in Pocatello, Idaho, I ran the 800m, placing second and running a 1:53.98
