Personal Statement

I’m an Australian runner who began my running career at year 7. Very late compared to a lot of runners.

After 3 or so races I became the best runner in my age group for the schools local group of AGSV. Quickly I worked my way through the ranks of runners to where I am now. Having recently come 3rd in my state and 25th in the country I feel there is a lot of room to improve if I want to achieve my best.

Every since I began I have shown complete dedication to training having only missed sessions when I am injured or sick. Currently I train 5-6 times a week on tues, wed, thurs, sat (when not racing), sun. Currently tossing up the option of taking my running and education to America in hopes to further it and I can promise that if I end up there, then I will devote as much effort as I can to running and education.

As for academic achievements. Since not being American and not having graduated year 12, currently in year 10, I don’t really know what the terms GPA means or how I sit on them. What I can say is that like my running I take my education very seriously. Averaging around an A for all my subjects especially maths and science for which I have a personal interest.

Not sure where my career choices will go but as noted before, I lean towards maths and science specifically physics and chemistry so I imagine working in that field.
